Disney Plus Reveals Its Soon-To-Be-Streaming Live-Action “Lady and the Tramp” with The Hit House’s Contribution & Lydia René’s Vocals
During its annual D23 Expo, Disney made the big reveal of their new upcoming Disney+ subscription on-demand streaming service. Amongst its offerings of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, & National Geographic lineup is also an all-new live-action version of the classic Lady and the Tramp. To deliver the perfect amount of sentimentality & the lilting romance of a childhood classic, Disney gave The Hit House the opportunity to create some trailer music magic in “Pulchra Nocte” with the help of Lydia René’s vocals.
Directed by Charlie Bean, 2019’s Lady and the Tramp follows the adventures of the streetsmart Schnauzer Tramp (voiced by Justin Theroux) who romances the upper-middle-class American Cocker Spaniel Lady (voiced by Tessa Thompson). The two dogs have the time of their lives as they romp through the city & their nascent romance blossoms, which of course includes the iconic spaghetti scene from Disney’s 1955 eponymous animated classic. Disney+’s new Lady and the Tramp also boasts an ensemble voice cast of Sam Elliott as Trusty, a Bloodhound, Ashley Jensen as Jock, a Scottish Terrier, Janelle Monáe as Peg, a Pekingese, & Benedict Wong as Bull, a Bulldog. On the human on-screen side, Kiersey Clemons, Thomas Mann, Yvette Nicole Brown, Adrian Martinez, Arturo Castro, Ken Jeong, & F. Murray Abraham round out the live-action actors.
One of The Hit House’s favorite animated films, we are simply enchanted with this update on the timeless classic of Disney’s Lady and the Tramp & incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with Lydia René on this dream project. Now we simply can’t wait for Disney+ to start streaming on November 12.
