  • FEMALE COMPOSERS UNITE

KCRW Presents "The Future is Female: A Concert Celebrating Female Composers" at The Wiltern Sept 4th produced by Tori Letzler.

The Hit House sponsors KCRW’s “The Future is Female: A Concert Celebrating Female Composers”, Produced by Multi-Hyphenate Tori Letzler

On September 4, 2018, KCRW will present their Annual The Future is Female Concert at the historic Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles. Featuring the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra, the event is produced by our very own composer, vocalist, performer, & producer Tori Letlzer. In association with Live Nation & The Alliance for Women Film Composers the talents of an all-star lineup, in addition to Tori, including: Germaine Franco, Tamar-kali, Ronit Kirchman, Cindy O’Connor, Heather Mcintosh, Mandy Hoffman, Emily Rice, Perrine Virgile-Piekarsk, Aska Matsumiya, Tangelene Bolton, & Jessie Weiss, will be showcased. The concert will feature the incredible contributions of women composers in film & TV, as well as the global music composition community at large.

Though female composers have been in the ascendancy, thus far few film music concerts have featured the music work of women composers. Thus, The Future is Female Concert will shine a spotlight, at a national level on the wonderful works, created & performed by these ultra-talented ladies. Through 2017, only 3% of the top 250 grossing films employed female Composers. Unfortunately, according to a study by The Center for the Study of Women in Television & Film by Martha M. Lauzen, Ph.D. This represents no change from 2016. Additionally, women only accounted for 11% of Directors, 11% of Writers, 19% of Executive Producers, 25% of Producers, 16% of Editors, & 4% of Cinematographers. Clearly these stunning discrepancies in representation are long overdue for change, so bringing attention through musical performance helps to bring awareness to this problem.

The Hit House is extremely proud of Tori’s hard work, musical talent, & dedication to raise up, not only her own profile & brand, but also that of her female peers. We are privileged to sponsor such a worthy & inspirational cause. Get your Tickets to support these talented & hard-working ladies now at www.Wiltern.com & until we see you at the concert on September 4, catch some of Tori’s work below.

A Selection of Tori Letzler & Scott Lee Miller’s nightmarish score for trailer & commercial music, of 11 all-new cues from The Hit House’s PURGATORY album:

As true friends would, the ragtag band of stuffed animals come-to-life, venture out from the Wood & into the great City to help Christopher rediscover the joy in his life through the simple things. Inspired by A.A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh, the film also stars Jimm Cummings (Winnie the Pooh), Brad Garrett (Eeyore), Toby Jones (Owl), Nick Mohammed (Piglet), Peter Capaldi (Rabbit), & Sophie Okonedo (Kanga).

  • Target the Hood

Lionsgate chooses The Hit House’s trailer music to enhance the action in its “Robin Hood” official teaser trailer.

Leonardo DiCaprio & Jennifer Davisson’s new production of Robin Hood targets U.S. theaters for November 21, but nothing is more important than building the marketing hype in the now. Therefore Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment chose to use The Hit House’s track, “Thermodynamic” by composer Scott Lee Miller, from our “KINETIC RE:ACTION” album, to build the tension, suspense, & action in its official teaser trailer (from 1:15-end). The spot highlights the breadth of the romance, suspense, chaos, & revolution that revolve around the characters of Robin Hood, Maid Marian, Little John, & the Sheriff of Nottingham in this new film.

Directed by Otto Bathurst, Robin Hood delivers a fresh take on the tale of Robin of Loxley aka Robin Hood (Taron Egerton) who along with his friend & Moorish commander Little John (Jamie Foxx), leads a courageous revolt against the insidious corruption of the English crown. The drama unfolds with thrilling action adventure, audacious fight choreography, & is threaded with a timeless & fiery romance between Robin Hood & Maid Marian (Eve Hewson). Also starring, Ben Mendelsohn as Sheriff of Nottingham, Tim Minchin as Friar Tuck, Jamie Dornan, Paul Anderson as Guy of Gisborne, Josh Herdman as Righteous, & Björn Bengtsson as Tydon.

Nothing gives more of a thrill than the rise of an underdog attempting to usurp the corrupt establishment, & thus The Hit House’s track “Thermodynamic” is happy to give energy to the coming revolution in Robin Hood. A tale of courage for both big & small, this fall, look for “The Hood,” as the all-star casts shoots into a theater near you.

  • Revelations at Hotel Artemis

The Hit House’s “Quantum” Brings Modern Action to “Hotel Artemis” Trailer

A secret hospital for criminals, definitely expects some action. So Global Road Entertainment chose The Hit House composer William August Hunt’s track “Quantum,” from our KINETIC RE:ACTION 2.0 to bring the action swagger to the Hotel Artemis’s official trailer, from 0:29-1:15.

Starring Jodie Foster as “The Nurse,” who makes the rules at the members only 22 year-old institution. Drew Pearce directs this high-octane thriller where on a busy Los Angeles night of mayhem & murder, one of the Hotel’s guests is there to assassinate another. The only problem is, the hospital has rules, which rely on trust, so if either is broken, no one is safe. Also starring Sterling K. Brown, Sofia Boutella, Jeff Goldblum, Brian Tyree Henry, Jenny Slate, Zachary Quinto, Charlie Day, & Dave Bautista, the concentrated chaos of Hotel Artemis arrives in theaters on June 8.

Even if your warzone fits into a hospital, you’re going to need some serious action music to ramp up the hype. Whether between 4 walls & a roof, across historically fantastic battlefields, or the epic vastness of space, The Hit House will give you the tracks you need to get the reaction you want. Hybrid, sci-fi, rock, or modern orchestral, we’ve got you covered. Until then, we’ll be watching the beautiful anarchy that is Hotel Artemis.

  • IT TAKES A TEAM TO RIDE SOLO

The world is made up of two sides: Casual Star Wars fans, & well, those of us at The Hit House.

Extremely close to the man who may or may not have shot first, are The Hit House composers William August Hunt & Scott Lee Miller. Directed by Ron Howard, Lucasfilm Ltd. & Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures’ Solo: A Star Wars Story, tells an all-new tale of the Millenium Falcon & its beloved crew of Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich), future copilot Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo), & their exploits with the universally infamous gambler Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover).
