  • THE “ICONIC THEME SONG” FOR BUSTING GHOSTS

Ghostbusters Official Trailer began with The Hit House’s special touch.

30 years ago it began, this summer it ends: Ghostbusters. Entertainment Weekly said, “When Sony dropped the trailer for the new Ghostbusters movie a few weeks ago, there were multiple references to the original 1984 film, including proton packs, the Ecto-1, and plenty of slime. But perhaps the most obvious callback was the trailer’s soundtrack: a simple piano version of Ray Parker Jr.’s iconic theme song.”

Created by The Hit House’s Scott Miller the 2016 piano version brought the perfect balance between homage to the past with notes of a tantalizing future.

Next time a spectre beckons, keep in mind, we’ll bust ghostly notes past, present, and future for you. Watch the trailer and see the movie bust ectoplasm all over theater screens this July 15.

  • RETURN FROM THE JUNGLE

“Live the Legend” with Disney’s The Jungle Book TV Spot featuring The Hit House’s “The End of the Jungle” piece.

Not only “The Bare Necessities,” but additional music is what we brought through Create Advertising to Disney’s previews of The Jungle Book. A whole new retelling by Jon Favreau of Rudyard Kipling’s timeless classic necessitates a continuous messaging with contemporary musical sensibilities.

In the “Live the Legend” spot Bagheera (Ben Kingsley) realizes just how special Mowgli (Neel Sethi) truly is. He vows to Baloo (Bill Murray) to return Mowgli from out of the jungle to the human civilization “where he belongs.” Also featuring the voice acting of Idris Elba as Shere Khan, Scarlett Johansson as Kaa, Lupita Nyong’o as Raksha, Giancarlo Esposito as Akela, and Christopher Walken as King Louie, The Jungle Book is set to release April 15.

Composed by The Hit House’s Scott Miller and William Hunt, “The End of the Jungle” vaults listeners from a contemplative wistfulness with rising rhythmic momentum propelling the spot’s plot to a glorious climax. Evoking memories of past melodies the music resolves in a whistled “The Bare Necessities” tune revamped for this generation’s fans of Disney’s The Jungle Book.

We’ll see you in theaters opening night, but ’til then, give the trailer a view, and keep in mind The Hit House will always navigate you safely through any musical jungle.

  • WHO YOU GONNA CALL?

The Hit House reimagines an iconic music sequence for Sony’s Ghostbusters trailer teaser.

A ghostly original franchise rebooted, a trailer tease, and a conspicuous music sequence, all combined for Sony Pictures Entertainment’s announcement of the 2016 Ghostbusters movie. To layer in just the right tone for a new generation of characters and movie-goers they asked The Hit House’s Scott Miller to add a contemporary flavor to the classic theme. Playing to just one of the powerful elements of his skillsets, Scott put fingers to keys, mind to task, and “busted” out just the right notes to honor the past and tantalize the future.

Directed by Paul Feig and starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa, McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Neil Casey, Charles Dance, Michael K. Williams, Elizabeth Perkins, Andy García, and Chris Hemsworth, the remake of the Ghostbusters movie from 30 years ago, combines the war against the paranormal with a cast of today’s funniest actors. The plot centers around two authors of a book that suggests ghosts are real. After being ostracized by their academic peers the duo teams up with a nuclear engineer and a subway worker to save Manhattan and the world from a demon and his legion of evil apparitions.

Slay some ghosts, save the world, and make quintessential music? You know who to call.

Watch the Ghostbusters trailer now, then get ready for busting ghosts, theaters, and your minds on July 15, 2016!

  • WELCOME TO OUR JUNGLE

Disney’s 2016 The Jungle Book movie trailer features The Hit House’s arrangement (and whistles) of “The Bare Necessities.”

The roll-out for the hotly anticipated release of Disney’s live-action epic adventure The Jungle Book began at the D23 Expo last year and continued with a Super Bowl 50 spot seen by millions. This critical marketing juncture needed just the right tone of light-hearted music to balance out an otherwise dark tale. So Disney tapped The Hit House to reimagine the timeless 1967 classic by Terry Gilkyson and originally sung by Phil Harris as Baloo. “The Bare Necessities” is arranged, performed, recorded, and whistled by Scott Miller and William Hunt.

The Jungle Book, directed by Jon Favreau and based on Rudyard Kipling’s 1894 eponymous collection of short stories, the movie is a modern day retelling as a live-action epic adventure about Mowgli’s (played by Neel Sethi) quest to survive in a jungle fraught with danger. An orphan raised by wolves, Mowgli is hunted by the tiger Shere Khan (voiced by Idris Elba), who is bent on revenge due to prior violent encounters with man. Forced to flee the only place he’s known, Mowgli departs the jungle with the help of panther and strict teacher Bagheera (voiced by Ben Kingsley), and the happy-go-lucky bear Baloo (voiced by Bill Murray). Through his journey of self-discovery and flight from danger Mowgli runs into varied jungle denizens with their own agendas, from Kaa (voiced by Scarlett Johansson), a hypnotic and seductive python, to King Louie (voiced by Christopher Walken), a slick con-man of an orangutan who attempts to get Mowgli to teach him the secret of fire. The mother wolf Raksha (voiced by Lupita Nyong’o) and Akela (voiced by Giancarlo Esposito) are also included in the premiere cast of voice actors.

Unlike the slick seductive python Kaa, Disney decided to trust The Hit House with their eminently recognizable tune and allowed our composers to do the work. The result? A revamped tune for 2016 that everyone will be whistling along to.

  • WE DISCOVERED OUR SUPERPOWER!

Invisibility! When Aspect asked The Hit House to enhance a special song for Warner Bros’ DC Comics’ campaign for Suicide Squad, the most important thing was not to leave a trace.

When darkness must be used to fight darkness, sometimes the silence of the night is the last thing you’ll hear. Aspect was tasked with creating the newest trailer for Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Comics’ tent-pole comic book movie of the year, Suicide Squad. For this key event leading up to the theatrical release, they asked The Hit House to enhance a perennial favorite, namely, Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” to help fit the dialogue and trailer.

The Suicide Squad is activated when evil in the DC Comics universe has become so bad that even Superman cannot contain it alone. Thus mere mortals must fight back with the only trump card they have, namely their own brand of bad. The dirty half-dozen squad is activated by Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, who presumes to have control of the ensemble of miscreants set to fight the true darkness. Directed by David Ayer, Suicide Squad stars Adam Beach as Slipknot, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, and Karen Fukuhara as Katana.

This colorful group of heroes (?!) sauntering out to save the world deserves the accompaniment of music that not only reflects our own zeitgeist, but also captures the audience’s capricious attention. Thus, The Hit House’s Creative Director, Scott Miller, led our intrepid team on the herculean, yet enviable, task of enhancing “Bohemian Rhapsody”, without leaving a trace. When you need to get the best original music or enhancement of classics for movie trailers, unleash our squad to vanquish your demons.

Suicide Squad invades theaters on August 5, 2016. Until it’s up to your imagination how they save the world… our superhero Scott Miller’s enhancements of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” should give you a good start.
